Splicing Tools - Chandlery - Above Deck

Splicing is not only an extremely rewarding discipline in and of itself, but it can really put the finishing touch on your boat’s ropework. Stronger than a knot and often much more beautiful, splices can be used for all manner purposes above and below deck, from a simple end splice to finish a mooring warp, to a complex rope-to-chain splice to ensure an anchor chain/anchor warp crossover runs smoothly over a bow roller. At the Bosun’s Locker, we’re able to offer a number of splicing services and are happy to work with our own 3-strand and multi-plait ropes or your own if they’re in serviceable condition. We’re not yet able to splice brain-on-braid rope, but we’re working on it! We also keep a selection of books on the topic, fids and spikes so you can teach and practice and become an expert yourself!
