Delivery and Carriage Charges - UK Mainland
At The Bosun’s Locker, we've made your delivery options easy.
Standard Delivery, which costs £2.49 for the majority of products. (Items such as Folded charts are delivered FREE)
Priority Dispatch, which costs £4.99.
In addition to this, we are pleased to offer FREE DELIVERY on orders over a total value of £50 (mainland UK only). If you wish, you can still specify the order to be a PRIORITY order and pay for quicker dispatch.
Which option you choose is entirely up to you. Choose our Standard rate if you're not in a hurry, or choose Priority if you want to recieve your order urgently. Where stock is available, we aim to post Priority items on the same or next working day that we recieve your order, whereas Standard orders are typically dispatched 2-5 days later.
This delivery policy is site wide, with the only exceptions being Hazardous Materials for which a charge of £5.99 applies; any items of extra long length or weight for which we charge £12.99; and finally any "awkward" items in terms of shape or size for which we charge £5.99. These charges apply to mainland UK delivery. Other regions differ.
Currently, over 90% of our products qualify for a delivery charge of £2.49 or less for Standard Delivery to mainland UK.

Standard Delivery
The Bosun’s Locker STANDARD DELIVERY option gives you £2.49 postage on orders of any value. Standard Delivery orders will take approximately 3 - 5 working days to arrive. Standard Delivery is available to most parts of the UK.

Will I receive my order sooner if I pay for Priority Despatch?
Yes – We process orders where Priority Dispatch has been paid for first.
If you pay for Priority Dispatch, we will post the items we have in stock straight away with the remainder going on backorder. These items are dispatched when they have all come into stock, or after a week, whichever is sooner.
If you select Standard Delivery, we will dispatch all of the items on your order together, when they are all in stock. If we are still waiting for items after a week, we will post the ones we do have.
What happens if my order is delayed?
We will wait for 5 days, then send the items we do have in stock. The remaining items will go on backorder
Items on backorder will be dispatched as soon as they arrive with no delivery charge.

Priority Dispatch
The Bosun’s Locker PRIORITY DISPATCH option gives you priority shipping and handling on orders of any value. Priority Dispatch orders will take approximately 1-3 working days to arrive. We aim to post Priority Dispatch orders out on the day the order was placed but at peak times of the season this is not always possible. Delivery times are calculated in working days Monday to Friday. If you order after 4 pm the next working day will be considered the first working day for dispatch. In case of bank holidays and over the Christmas period, please allow an extra two working days.
If you order on a Friday or Saturday we may dispatch your order the same day but it may not arrive until the following week as not all postal services deliver at the weekends.
Priority Dispatch orders placed on a Sunday will be processed first thing Monday morning ahead of our weekend rush!
How much does Priority Dispatch cost?
UK Priority Dispatch costs only £4.99 per order.
What advantages do I get with Priority Dispatch?
Speed! Priority Dispatch means we dispatch what we can, as soon as we can.
Priority Dispatch orders are picked and packed first.
If we don't have enough stock to fulfill all orders, stock is allocated to priority dispatch orders first.
Items we have in stock are sent out straight away with other items placed on back order for dispatch later.
You get your items as quickly as possible without waiting for the other items to come into stock.
You only pay once, even if we dispatch your order in multiple consignments.

Hazardous Materials
Such materials as classed by the Royal Mail being Hazardous, including Aerosols, Corrosive Substances, Flammable Liquids, Flammable Solids, Explosives, Oxidising Substances and Solvent Based Paints must carefully packaged and sent via licenced courier. As such, a surchage of £5.99 is levied.
How will I know if an item on my order is classes as Hazardous?
You will see the surchage on your order summary before you checkout.
Common hazardous items include Paints, Antifouls, Varnishes, Epoxies, Thinners, Flares and Rust Removers/Inhibitors.
How much will delivery of Hazardous Material cost?
If you selected our Standard Delivery, you will pay £5.99.
If you selected our Priority Dispatch option, you will pay £4.99 + £5.99 = £10.98.

Delivery and Carriage Charges - Non-UK mainland
Delivery to areas other than mainland UK unfortunately do not qualify for our Standard Delivery Option. For Priority Delivery, charges will be by quotation and you will be advised of them by email or by phone by a member of our e-commerce team, otherwise, our standard charges, as detailed below, will apply.
Please note, we cannot dispatch goods classed as DANGEROUS outside of Mainland UK. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us on the number at the top of the page.
